Course Description

The Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry Postgraduate Certificate thoroughly explores the most important topics in dental aesthetics. The programme covers scientific documentation, as well as clinical applications, and both biological and practical components are presented at a specialist level by the UCL Eastman Dental Institute faculty and invited international leading experts. The programme provides dental clinicians with the theoretical background and the clinical skills to incorporate aesthetic elements into their daily patient care, within traditionally sound restorative principles. With the current technological and research advances, dental restorations meet the requirements of biocompatibility, function and longevity, contributing also to the patient s overall well-being. Degree Structure Postgraduate Certificate students undertake courses to the value of 60 credits. The programme consists of two core courses worth 30 credits each. Your future career Aesthetic dentistry is one of the fastest growing areas of contemporary dental practice, and successful graduates of this programme gain the clinical and theoretical skills and techniques necessary to incorporate aspects of Aesthetic Dentistry into their daily practice. Entry Requirements All applicants must normally hold an approved dental qualification and have a minimum of two years clinical experience. All candidates wishing to train on a programme leading to a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) must have a minimum of two years of post-graduate experience working as a registered dentist and be eligible for full registration with the General Dental Council. Where equivalent qualifications or experience are being offered, it is essential that the candidate provides appropriate written confirmation and attaches this to their application. Applicants who do not provide this confirmation will not be put forward for shortlisting. Acceptance on a programme leading to a CCST must be via competitive entry, subject to the ratification of the Dean of Postgraduate Dentistry. Entry Requirements

All applicants must normally hold an approved dental qualification and have a minimum of two years' clinical experience post-qualification.
