Course Description

AIMS This MSc aims to produce graduates who understand the fundamentals of financial theory and its interrelationship with international monetary policy, with an emphasis on modelling, forecasting and derivatives. No prior experience of finance or statistics is assumed, although students should have a good mathematical knowledge and have studied basic economicscalculus. PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION You take compulsory modules (70 credits), optional modules (50 credits) and write a dissertation (60 credits). Compulsory modules typically include: economic theory (micro and macro) financial theory and corporate policy applied time series modelling and forecasting and research methods in international economics and finance. You also select optional modules from topics such as: behavioural finance credit risk modelling central banking international money and banking financial derivatives legal and regulatory aspects of banking supervision legal and regulatory aspects of money laundering and financial crime. Entry Requirements

An upper-second-class Honours degree, or international equivalent, with some transcript evidence of mathematical education. Applicants with a minimum of grade C at maths A Level will be considered on an individual basis.
